TEMPE, Ariz. — The Friday night lights were bright at Packard Stadium as 2,928 fans gathered to watch the newly crowned “Mr. Friday Night.” Sophomore left handed pitcher Brett Lilek moved into the Friday night spot after fellow sophomore Ryan Burr’s attempt to make the transition from closer to starter was met with mixed reviews.
Lilek (3-0) allowed only four hits and one earned run through seven innings. Lilek’s streak of 20 2/3 scoreless innings was broken in the top of the seventh inning by a two-out RBI by junior shortstop Erik Forgione. Freshman right handed pitcher Eder Erives pitched a perfect eighth inning and Burr came out in the ninth to record his third save. >>>Read more on College Baseball Central
